This presentation will define dyscalculia, explain common misconceptions, and provide an overview of the Multisensory Math strategy.  Using several case studies of struggling students, the presenter will explain the underlying diagnoses and challenges as well as special considerations for instruction with these students.  Marisa will show participants how to support these students using multisensory instructional strategies for intervention.

Marisa Churchill is a Certified Coach in Marilyn Zecher's Multisensory Math Approach and a Wilson Certified Practitioner.  Throughout her nearly 20 years in education, Marisa has supported students with learning disabilities and trained teachers in best practices.  She currently works as an Instructional Coach at Hyde Park Day School and facilitates workshops using Marilyn Zecher's Multisensory Math Approach.

Members who attend will receive 1.5 CPDUs for this program.  

Current PLD/SE membership is required for CPDU credits.

Members who register will receive a recording.

This event is free, but pre-registration is required.  Registration closes on Sunday, January 11th.  Registrants will receive a link and a passcode the day before the event.
