Study Groups

PLDSE holds study groups that meet in members' homes to have more in depth discussions and presentations on topics of interest to the group. Meeting dates and locations are set by the individual groups. Please email us at pldsechicago@gmail.com to learn more!


Our North Study Group meets in the Northbrook/Highland Park/Deerfield area.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone at our spring study group, Monday April 9th at 7:30. A Volunteer to host the meeting would be appreciated. Otherwise we will meet again at my house. The topic is learning from our study group members what they are presently doing.  We have so much talent in our group. 

Our main contributors will be Patty Schabinger, who is a a college consultant who guides families through the college process and helps high school students find the best fit, Marni Naleway  does admissions and outreach for Fusion Academy- private school working with middle and high school students who need more than the traditional school setting, and  Dr. Gloria Abularch  who is in Private Practice and is a Professor of Psychology is a bilingual specialist. will share who present responsibilities.  

Feel free to come and share.  Let me know if you think you can make it.  I will let you know where we will be meeting.

Professionals in Learning Disabilities and Special Education is a not-for-profit organization offering continuing education programs to inform members of current instructional practices, assessment, and policy issues in the field of learning disabilities.  PLD/SE also offers a referral service to the community, providing qualified professionals for diagnostics and remediation.  PLD/SE provides programs as a service to its members.  PLD/SE does not endorse any specific program, speaker, instructional materials, method, treatment, or evaluation center for children with disabilities.
