Helping Our Students Manage Anxiety

Using small group case analysis in a power point lecture, Ms. Denton will define anxiety and how we observe it in students. She will also examine anxiety separately from and in relationship to learning challenges, discuss techniques which can help student reduce their anxiety in a variety of school settings, and guide in practicing these techniques. This presentation will provide teachers with additional tools to help their student normalize and cope with their anxiety, thereby helping student to be more available for learning.
Lynn Denton, LCSW, is a former school social worker in public school, supporting students in grades three through nine. She also has worked as a school social worker at Hyde Park Day School, working with students having significant learning and/or neurodivergent issues. For the past eight years, she has been in private practice working with children, parents, and adults on a variety of mental health diagnoses.
Members who attend will receive 1.5 CPDUs for this program.
Current PLD/SE Membership is required for CPDU credits.
