Can Current Behavior Foretell Future Violence?

Presented by Bruce Liebe, BA, MA

Tuesday, January 16, 2024

7:00 - 8:30 PM

Zoom

This presentation will provide the definition of "active shooter" and the general demographics of offenders; discuss behaviors and characteristics that are mistakenly believed to contribute to the mass shooter problem; and identify risk factors associated with mass shooters.  It will also discuss direct indicators, indirect indicators, and concerning behaviors as well as list the phases of the active shooter.  The presenter will also detail how warning signs are often overlooked and how the failure to address these in the early stages eliminates the opportunity to prevent mass shooting events.

Mr. Liebe is a 30-year law enforcement veteran having served 5 years with a municipal police agency and 25 years with the Illinois State Police.  He is currently serving as director of the Law Enforcement Training Advisory Commission, is a featured author for the National Tactical Officers Association's journal, and is certified by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board as an Active Threat Master Instructor.

A Certificate of Attendance can be provided upon request.

This event is free, but pre-registration is required.  Registration closes on Sunday, January 14th.  Registrants will receive a link and a passcode the day before the event.
