This presentation will provide a brief overview and introduction to Executive Function in school-age people. Executive Functioning's relationship to learning, behavior, and emotion will be highlighted, as well as what the current research has revealed about its importance in these domains. A brief review of Executive Functioning assessment tools will be provided to assist the practitioner in identifying when the child is experiencing Executive Functioning difficulties. Case studies and interventions will be presented together to illustrate how to intervene, and to provide potential resources that can be used for Executive Functioning skill-building.
Dr. Frampton is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Co-Founder of Formative Psychological Services, a private practice in Chicago that provides therapy and school-based neuropsychological assessments. Originally trained as a School Psychologist, he is endorsed as a Director of Special Education in the state of Illinois. In addition to his work in private practice, he has served as the Principal of a therapeutic day high school for Niles Township High School District 219 and as a consultant to school districts and the juvenile justice system. He has also presented on a wide variety of mental health and school-related topics.
Dr. Ashley Mayworm is a postdoctoral psychology fellow, providing therapy and assessment services to children, adolescents and young adults. She received her PhD in Counseling/Clinical/School Psychology at the University of California Santa Barbara and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She also is an assistant professor in the School Psychology program at Loyola University Chicago where she teaches and conducts research on child and adolescent mental health and effective delivery of school-based services.

PLD/SE membership is required for CPDU credits. Members will receive 1.5 CPDUs for this program.
